It’s a cafeteria style restaurant. It only W5,500 and their menu changes daily. Very authentically Korean.

We tried this place but there was only fish, tofu, rice and side dishes when we went. Don’t think we would give it another shot but good luck to anybody who does!

Today we stopped for an oil change. We brought our own oil and filter and we were charged 20,000 won for the service. While our car was in the air the guys did an inspection. We were shown how our tire had a split on the inside wall and the steel belts were visible. We were pleasantly surprised when we were told that we would have two new tires in about 40 minutes! We are so grateful that they did a good look over of our car. We are supposed to head to 121 tomorrow and our trip could have been disastrous. We are grateful for the terrific service. The staff speaks English. The tire prices were higher than Tire rack; but considering the circumstances, we did not mind.

Shout out for Mobile One. My alternator went out on my truck. I drove it home ordered a new from Autozone and received it in a little over a week. Made an appointment at Mobile One to install it and my battery died just as I cleared Pangseong Bridge. I thought here’s a towing charge, my wife picked up the owner and he showed up with a battery and jumper cables. He set the battery on the passenger seat floor put the battery cable through the side window and under the hood to my dead battery. He then just started my car drove to the garage, I was amazed, good guy speaks English like a native.

He is great. Went to get our oil changed and he told my husband the oil would be cheaper on post, to go and get it and bring it back. He even told us whoever did the last oil change (which was Walmart) messed up something when they changed it last. Then my husband went to get our blinker bulb replaced and thought they took debit as payment, but they don’t. He didn’t have won so the guy told him they were about to close and it was Saturday to just bring it to him on Monday. Super nice guy!

Kitchen Del Vino is a fine dining Italian restaurant in Pyeongtaek. They serve steaks, salad, pasta, pizza, desserts and appetizers. They have a good sized wine list and offer a few cocktails and liqueurs as well. The atmosphere is romantic, the lights are dim, the decor is elegant and the view of downtown Pyeongtaek is interesting. The staff is attentive and cheerful. This is a great spot for a date, but we have also taken our children (age 6 and 2) and the servers were fantastic with them, they even brought out a banana yogurt for them to share while we waited on our food! As long as your children are well behaved in a restaurant you should not be afraid to bring them.

My children split a great fruits and cream pizza which was â‚©16,000. It was so huge that my husband and I had some for dessert! It was delicious and came with a honey sauce for dipping.

We had the house sweet white wine and a midori sour cocktail as well, W7,000 and W9,000 respectively.

Korea Frying serves Americanized Korean food in the ville of Camp Humphreys. The food is pretty good, even if it has been tweaked a bit to suit American tastes. The restaurant is casual and the service or both eat in and delivery has always been great, they really want to make sure you are happy. We usually get delivery from Korea Frying and are always happy with our food. Korea frying is also cheap, with prices ranging from W3,000 to W10,000 and free delivery. Some of our favorite foods include the yaki mandu, spicy pork with rice, galbi, bibimbap and kimbap.

I had a coffee drink that you have to pay for once you walk in. I’m not sure of any foods.

You do smell the cat smell when you first walk in, but it quickly fades away once you are engulfed with the furry kitties everywhere. It’s very therapeutic and just neat and different.

Italian and Korean. I so cheated on our diet by eating here, but it was worth it. I would say kid friendly, casual attire works I was in yoga pants . Prices $10-$20 and they have wine that ranges from $4-$6 a glass.

I really enjoyed it. It was like a little taste of my favorite restaurant back home, Carrabbas. I had the spaghetti meat sauce and my husband had the chicken fettuccine both were really good but I did like his better. I’m even thinking about having them cater a major event in the fall.

Posted by: Justine Shively

We liked it too! Spaghetti was good, I had risotto and hubby had alfredo. All very yummy.

I LOVE the bacon risotto. Delicious!

The Indian selections that we chose were rice dishes. One was Bacon, the other was chicken. I have never had Indian food prepared in this manner, so perhaps it is more fusion It was really good though and only 7,000 won. There was extra olive oil on the plate that was served under the rice, regardless, I would order the rice again. The other dish was Fettuccine Alfredo. I do not know if it came with the pepper on it or if my daughter added it. It was very creamy and cost 9,900 won. The garlic bread was 1,000 won for 2 pieces; however, we were given 4 pieces. There is a private room in back.

Cheong Hae Jin

Directions: To get to Cheong Hae Jin leave the main gate of Camp Humphreys turning directly right, when you reach a gas station to your left, then turn left. Go past the gas station and the restaurant will be on your left.

Some of the most wonderful fish I’ve ever had, just beautifully cooked to perfection on a charcoal grill. A great variety of really good banchan as well. My kids loved it, as well. The fish does have bones in, so make sure your children know how to eat bone in fish or be prepared to spend time removing the bones for them. There are two rooms with 2-4 tables in each room, one traditionally korean and one western style.

Posted by Chris Fletcher: I’d heard from two individuals that it was good but I was disappointed. I thought the fish was too dry. For a better place try the Yongtan fish alley near Dongdaemun in Seoul.

The menu here is super cute! It is made like a scrap book. We really enjoyed everything and we will likely go back. There are tables, comfortable chairs, and bar stools. We had the Choco Ice which had chocolate cereal pieces, cookies, nuts, whipped cream, and delicious ice cream. We also had a Vienna coffee, which was essentially a cup of coffee with a scoop of ice cream, delicious! We also ordered a cherry-aid and waffle with ice cream. I think the waffle was 3,500 won, it was the best value. The cherry ade was huge and delicious. The cafe was comfortable and inviting.

Stay on the main road, you will be driving towards Yangseong. The road goes straight, then off to the right (there is a traffic light or two). As you climb the hill, you will see a large parking lot on top- this is the place to stop and hike, there is a museum across. For the cafe and other restaurants, stay on the road, the Mandolin Cafe is on your right about half a mile further, towards the bottom of the hill.

This cafe is kind of out of the way, though it is with-in a 35-40 minute drive of Camp Humphreys. There is a terrific place to hike on Go-sung mountain which is off to the right before reaching the cafe. I found the hike to be very challenging but worth the effort. This cafe is about half of a mile from where we hiked. It is nice but a little more expensive than other cafes. There was not much English spoken and the menu is in Hangul, however you can easily order because coffee drink names are the same in English and Hangul. Coffee bean roasting is done on site. Our coffee was 8,000 won for a small cup, it was hand drip. The atmosphere was super nice! If I go back, we will not take our kids. We had three adults when we went and our bill was 30,000 for 3 coffees and an ice cream. On Go-Sung Mountain, I hiked to the temple and beyond. The hike lasted for many hours,we even lost a member of our group when we all became spread out. He had to hike an extra three miles and get picked up by a car. That day was my most challenging hike ever. It is a lovely location and we will hike it again.

You can get a free refill of Americano. I love this place!

Posted by Chris Fletcher: The museum near the parking lot to begin hiking is a memorial to the 1st March independence movement.
