The Dog

You can usually hear the dogs when you’re close.

Price:You must order at least one drink. Drinks are around W6,000.

It’s very similar to the cat cafés that people are familiar with, only dogs! There are dogs that live there, and it’s also BYOD (bring your own dog). We saw both big and small dogs, but they must be/are all vaccinated. You have to order at least one drink – they have a selection of iced teas, smoothies, and basic coffees – around $6. The drinks are ok, but let’s face it, we’re not really there for the beverages. They have snack items like muffins and pretzels, and they have some dog supplies for sale as well. Honestly, I enjoyed it more than the one in Myeongdong.

Clean, nice bar in Pyeongtaek. Beer is self-service and anywhere from 2,500won – 9,900won. Good selection.

Food’s fairly priced and portions are big, especially the salad. We liked it.

We’ve been there and had a creamy chicken pasta (which, warning to those with allergies, had a solitary shrimp hiding in the bottom) and the Gorgonzola pizza, both of which were delicious! And we had yummy gelato for dessert. We really enjoyed it and plan to go back.

It’s a cafeteria style restaurant. It only W5,500 and their menu changes daily. Very authentically Korean.

We tried this place but there was only fish, tofu, rice and side dishes when we went. Don’t think we would give it another shot but good luck to anybody who does!

Korea Frying

Directions: From the Walking Gate of Camp Humphreys, go straight down the main ville road until you see Korea Frying on your right. The facade is green.

Hours: 11:00am – Midnight

Korea Frying serves Americanized Korean food in the ville of Camp Humphreys. The food is pretty good, even if it has been tweaked a bit to suit American tastes. The restaurant is casual and the service or both eat in and delivery has always been great, they really want to make sure you are happy. We usually get delivery from Korea Frying and are always happy with our food. Korea frying is also cheap, with prices ranging from W3,000 to W10,000 and free delivery. Some of our favorite foods include the yaki mandu, spicy pork with rice, galbi, bibimbap and kimbap.

Here we ordered the Galbi (in the biggest box, it comes with lettuce to wrap the meat), the yaki mandu, kimbap, steamed rice, sweet and sour pork (bottom right hand corner) and spicy pork and rice (top right hand corner). Cucumber kimchi and seaweed packets are free with your meal, they also pack chopsticks and spoons for you.

This is an all you can eat beef and leaf buffet located in Dunpo. It’s 15,000W per adult then the price goes down to 9,000W, 6,000W and 3,000W. We liked it a lot, there’s a big selection of king galbi, several kinds of bacon, seafood such as shrimp, octopus and squid. In addition there are other dishes like Samgaetang (chicken in broth), Japchae, and Bulgogi in beef and pork. There’s also mochi and ice cream for dessert. ***PLEASE NOTE: You do have you remove your shoes before entering through the door.***
